The family blog of Kristian, Catherine and Hugo

Last weekend we went to Kien's 30th birthday at Shelly Beach (beach just up from Manly). It was Hugo first time to the beach and after Alicia smothered him with sun block we went to check out the waves

He was excited but naturally apprehensive

And wouldn't put his feet in the water

But then he tried a foot so Kristian held him securely...

Strolled along the shore

Dipped him in the water

Walked him along the sand

In no time he was loving it

He couldn't have done it without his Dad

With waving arms and squeals of excitement he sat and crawled along the sandy shore

He loved the rush of the waves

Sitting to take in the sights

Splashing through crystal waters

Nothing like a cuddle at the end of a day at the beach

Things Hugo loves doing: Sitting ontop of any table he can climb

Laughing at the antics of his friend Luis

Feeding himself

"Helping" me to cook

Crushing my made-from-scratch monte carlos biscuits

But then trying to get his sticky little fingers on as many as possible (not necessarily to eat, moreso to crush)

Eating watermelon (this is a delectable 10kg beauty Kristian picked up locally for just $6!!)

And of course chilling with his Dad

Just out of the bath

Happy

Me and Hugo

Busy little hands in the pantry drawers

It's blurry, but I still like it

Laughing

Reading a book with Dad

He still has those chubby cheeks

Hugo's checkin you out

Close up on a hot night

Hugo making a mess of our bookcase

I'd like to say he's selecting a lovely novel to read, but we all know the truth

I don't know how he does it, but Kristian can STILL carry Hugo in the Bjorn... amazing

Sydney skies

Hugo has just woken up in this shot and doesn't appreciate the camera being in close proximity to his face

He likes to lie alone and watch his shows for a while

Love from Mum is not welcomed

Time alone with his bedhair is highly recommended

Hugo has just woken up in this shot and really doesn't appreciate the camera being in close proximity to his face

Hugo loves to follow Kristian around the house, often letting out a big cry of 'da-ya!' or 'dadada' when he can't be seen

My sister Rebecca and her husband Pino with one of their sons, Nathan and Gabrielle, a good family friend. The kids had spent the afternoon in Dad's pool and the more civilised adults lounged in retreat from the heat
