Jib Jab

Hugo had his immunisation shots today and boy, did he scream and cry. It was quite heart-breaking.

He's been upset since the shots, but I sure he'll feel better tomorrow.

And on the topic of feedings, he's become quite a big baby that looks almost double his age. He now weighs 7.6kgs - he was 5.5kgs the week before Christmas. Newborn clothes no longer fit him. Crikey. The time to move may be approaching faster than I thought as although we have a great waterfront apartment, it comes with nine flights of stairs...

See you soon

Today Nada and Brian sadly left Sydney for Vancouver. With their three week visit over, Kristian and I are sitting on the couch watching tv and trying to get used to the silence. We're even creating mock arguments, but with Hugo fast asleep, all we're hearing is the tv and our own voices. It's just not the same.

Their visit was brief like a good seinfeld episode. And now that the show's over, here are some of our favourite highlights...

Welcome

Hi there Everyone,

Welcome to Wolfgang Howls, our family blog. This is our attempt to keep in touch with our loved ones here in Sydney and across the world. We'll regularly update this site with posts and pictures so email me if you ever have questions, want more information or would like us to send you the original of a photo.

So what's with the name? Well, for those who don't know, our son Hugo's nickname is Wolfie. This came from Kristian's original name suggestions - Wolf, Tiger, King and Boris. We're not the type to have nicknames that are too sugar sweet like Peaches or Sweetie Pie so Wolf it is. And no, that wouldn't have changed for a girl. So Hugo's official name is Hugo Wolfgang.

2005 is proving to be a really exciting year for us. I've taken time off work to raise our babe and Kristian works from home, which is just wonderful. He's such a great Dad. We feel blessed to have this time together with our son.

Kristian's folks, Nada and Brian, have been visiting for the past three weeks and unfortunately leave for Canada on Monday. We've had such a good time together. I only wish they could stay longer or that we all lived closer. We hope to visit them in Canada later this year. If all goes well it would make sense to pass through Texas to hang out with my cousin David and his fam, and since Europe is so close to Canada (in comparison to Oz), visit Croatia so Hugo can meet his great grandmother and Scotland to see all of my uncles, aunties and cousins, many whom I've spoken to but have never met. That would be the big picture, fingers and toes crossed.

Anyway, Hugo is now sleeping, Kristian and Nada are out shopping and Brian is sleeping/resting his poor burnt feet so I'm going to take this chance to get some housework done...

Love to you all!
Catherine

ps. I'll be uploading highlight's from Brian and Nada's stay so keep checking back for updates!
