Welcome to our house inspection
We have successfully moved - yay!
I'm writing from our bright and sunny lounge room. The windows are filled with tall trees and it's quiet and serene, with the exception of Hugo's animated voice as he chats in his cot, ready for his morning nap. He'll sleep for 1-2.5 hours before waking desperately hungry.
Hugo's settling into a really nice routine here. We finally have room for his cot and despite sleeping with Kristian and me for a couple months, he comfortably settles on his own now without much fuss. Phew.
One of the most encouraging changes is that we're surrounded by families with young children who love coming over to play, despite the wary eye of Kristian. It's a classic case of a (big) boy not wanting to share his toys. What is he going to do if the neighbourhood kids play on his game consoles or watch DVDs on our big screen tv? Hilarious.
But the parents are great to chat to. They're friendly and easy going, which suits us just fine. I'm so happy Hugo will have friends to play with. There's also a nearby pre-school with regular playgroups, which we plan to soon join. Fun!
As you can tell, we're really enjoying this house. It features three large bedrooms and an extra room off the living area that can be used as a sunroom, separate dining room, extra bedroom, or in our case, Kristian's office/music studio and games room. The number of rooms is perfect as we still have a large guest room for over-indulgent friends and overseas visitors.
And I finally have a clothes line! No more jumping out the window to hang clothes in our secret walkway. So I've been a fanatic laundry machine. I've culled and rewashed all the clothes we own, throwing out around seven garbage bags full of things we no longer wear so our wardrobes look and smell soooo good now. Kristian and I want our home a hub of comfort, conversation and enjoyment and we're slowly getting there.
We're amazing at how an increase in our living space has relaxed us and made us breathe deeper. Although we're further north, our location is still ideal as the house is situation on the verge of the Lane Cove National Park and five minutes away from the Chatswood shopping district. The city is still around 15 mintues away depending on traffic.
So if you're in the area, pop by. We'd love to see you :)
